Mental health is something that affects us all and has been very taboo for the longest time. Not only does it affect our health and our overall body it also affects the relationship of the people around us. According to the Society for Health Education and Promotion Specialists (SHEPS, 1997), mental health entails feeling good about oneself and others, as well as being cheerful, joyous, and loving. Biological, social, psychological, and environmental variables all have an impact on mental health and mental diseases.

Side effects

The side effects of not taking care of your mental health can be pretty damaging to your overall well-being. Some of the side effects of negative mental health are significant weariness, poor energy, sleeping difficulties, mood changes, suicidal thoughts, and reduced productivity.

How will stress affect it?

Stress can greatly affect our mental health and even our body. Long-term stress raises the likelihood of mental health issues including anxiety and depression. Problems with substance abuse issues with sleep aches and pains, as well as physical concerns such as muscular tightness It also raises the chance of the body's overall health including headaches and gastrointestinal issues, having a compromised immune system, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
